A Prayer Oh Father as I lay in bedA Prayer by *timaclaren
Heavy grows my weary head
My mind alight and brain afire
And eyes once more close, conspire
Again of her my thoughts do roam
As dreams set in she feels like home
My empty arms and empty heart
Do ache that once again we part
Oh Father as I drift to sleep
I pray my Lord her soul you keep
As love builds up like mighty waves
Her presence now my body craves
As sleep consumes me I cry out
A mumble meant to be a shout
I plead once more for one more shot
Knowing well I ask a lot.
Oh Father as I start to doze
Her face upon my eyelids grows
I hear her voice inside my brain
The lovely sound of summer's rain
